ICAR - Central Arid Zone Research Institute

6th Foundation day of Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI) was celebrated on 1^st October, 2014. On this occasion, Foundation Day Lecture on “Climate resilient agriculture - Strategies and options for arid regions” was delivered by Dr AK Sikka, DDG (NRM), ICAR and Chief Guest of the event. He emphasised the need for technological and policy support to the farmers and herders to adapt to socio-economic and environmental changes. He congratulated all scientist and staff of CAZRI on this occasion and appreciated the efforts of the institute in entering into the cold arid zones in recent past. 
Dr SR Vadera, Outstanding Scientist & Director, Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur was the Guest of Honour. He appreciated the role of CAZRI in service of farm community in arid regions of the country.

Dr MM Roy, Director, CAZRI presented the highlights of previous year. Notable contributions in commercialization of several technologies and steps for wider dissemination of knowledge were mentioned.

The event was attended by CAZRI scientists and other staff; Dr YV Singh, Director, ZPD (VI); Dr OP Yadav, Director, DMR, Dr AT Jeyseelan, Director RRSC (ISRO), Jodhpur; Dr RP Dhir, Former Director, CAZRI and many retired scientists and other staff of the institute. 
Earlier, Dr PC Pande, Head of Division and Organizing Secretary of the event welcomed the guests and the participants.
The programme was compered Sh. Gaje Singh Jodha and Smt. Savita Singhal.      
In the end, Dr RK Kaul, Principal Scientist proposed the vote of thanks.
